“The Fire and Reason formed in the summer of 2005 by Bella Saona and Steve Narvaez. Originally conceived as a 2 person band ala the Kills, White Stripes, they expanded to a four piece rock band. Touring the world and self releasing a critically acclaimed EP.
Fast-forward to 2008 they are now a 3 piece electronic group, going back to their roots, of dance and beats. Recording their latest EP with Jimmy “MOD” from the band Elefant they are returning to the place they started. Drrty beats with hot vocals and sexy vibes.
Their “Shut Up, Dance EP” is being offered to their fans and the world for free and features an exclusive remix of their hit “NME” by none other than Paris’ own The Toxic Avenger!!”
Here are my favorite tracks from the groups new EP. Sugar Koma is a hot electro-pop track with dirty vocals. The NME remix is about as good as they come. The Toxic Avengers at their best. I highly recommend you download both tracks and check out their free EP for more sexiness. Enjoy!

Dragonette played at the Just For Laughs Theater in Montreal last night as a part of their Mating Season Tour. 2 groups opened for them, Sweet Thing and the fierceness that is Fritz Helder & The Phantoms. I picked up their CD after the performance because they were AMAZING and like nothing I’ve ever seen. The best way to describe them is; the Black Eyed Peas gone Electro-fabulous fronted by Tyra Banks in drag bearing a Key-tar. Hot.
Funny enough, I’ve seen Fritz Helder perform before, but during Nelly Furtado’s world tour. He was her choreographer (I believe) and he danced during the Canadian leg of Nelly’s tour. Pastel Super Nova (the chick in the group) has been in many of Nelly’s music videos such as Do It, where you can see her right at the beginning. Nelly F is so tight with the group, that she made a cameo appearance in their new music video for Making A Scene. Check out more of the group on their MySpace page, or on FritzHelder.com. I’ve posted a few must-haves from their debut album, ironically called Greatest Hits, but pick up the album if you like it because it’s a solid one, complete with intros and interludes.
Take Daft Punk’s funkiness, throw in Justice’s edge, crazy design and exciting track names such as 11h30, 11h54 and 19h11 then you get Danger, another French electronic music machine. Excuse my run on sentence and download his EP 09/14 2007 below. 11h30 is the highlight off of the EP, and apparently it was a free iTunes download a few weeks ago, one that I unfortunately missed. Be sure to check out his MySpace too for some excellent art work and information.
Sébastien Tellier’s new album Sexuality was produced by none other than 1/2 of Daft Punk. What is it about French electronic music that makes it so much better than everything else? Either way it makes me proud to be from Montreal because at least I know the language haha. (Well kinda, I get my exam marks back last week) Anyway, here is Sexual Sportswear, which was previously released with a remix by Sebastian. The original version is 7 minutes of pure electronic bliss, while the SebastiAn remix is harder, better, faster and stronger. Both are must downloads.
Genesis is one of my favorite tracks off of Justice’s Cross. The Chewy Chocolate Cookie remix freshens it up a bit and plays with the orchestral part at the beginning, plus it seems appropriate with Easter and all. Enjoy.

Here are some wonderful remixes to add the catalogue. The Nelly Furtado is old, the Timbaland is new and the Bumblebeez is right in the middle. Be sure to check out their I Want Your Soul and Salmon Dance remixes below. They are key.
