Spin my head right round

Rachel ChanRachel ChanRachel Chan

Rachel Chan

After 3 massive commercial hits, (Low, Elevator and In The Ayer) Flo Rida is back with yet another smash hit. Right Round samples exactly what you’d expect it to, and is actually the best thing I’ve heard in my life. Trouble was another heavily sampled bonus track off of Britney Spear’s Circus. This remix features a few verses by MC Donnis, and hopefully will see a real release in the future. Until then, it’s completely worth the download.

I’ve never been a huge Lady Gaga fan, or one at all for that matter, but Space Cowboy really knows his shit. This remix plays with 1 or 2 lines from Gaga’s LoveGame which Space Cowboy flips and re-arranges into electro heaven. Downloads after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »

Searching for the thrill

So The Treasure Fingers have been doing well for themselves lately. Starting with their single Cross The Dancefloor, the group has been a blog favorite. After pumping out amazing remixes of names such as Fergie, Estelle, Chromeo and Little Boots, Treasure Fingers released a remix of Empire Of The Sun’s Walking On A Dream. This mix is probably better than the original, which is a giant feat in itself. It keeps the same energy and feel of the original, but adds Treasure Finger’s signature bouncy synths and general amazingness. Pick up the track after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »

Britney Spears - Circus

Britney Spears - Circus

I haven’t blogged about Britney nearly enough since Circus came out. To amend this, here are two amazing tracks for y’all. Firstly, I have the best mashup you’ve ever heard. Axwell Vs. Britney, and secondly I have a Diplo remix of Circus which I didn’t know existed until about 30 minutes ago. Downloads after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »

Stand up and get your

Sébastien Tellier - Kilometer

You know that song that you love, you give 5 stars and listen to over and over? Amazing remixes come pouring out and the song just keeps getting better and better. For me, this song is Sébastien Tellier’s Kilometer off of his LP, Sexuality. For the past few months everybody under the sun has produced and released terrific remixes to the blogging world, and I’m still not over it. A-Track dropped probably the best mix of it to date last week and again, I can’t get enough.

The Presets have also released an amazing remix of Sam Sparro’s Pocket and I’ve included some new M.I.A. and a new Yuksek single featuring Amanda Blank. Check it out after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »

Sweet 16

Sweet 16 - Thunderheist

I promise I’ll get back to my countdown – WordPress confuses me – but Thunderheist just released a new EP on iTunes, which is reason enough to drop everything and listen. It’s nice to see something of theirs released for once (after the massively successful Jerk It) and lets hope this is the beginning of a full LP. Sweet 16 borrows some lyrics from other their unreleased tracks, their song Horny comes in mind, while Cruise Low goes in the Spank Rock direction. Whateveruneed is a big step forward for the group, it’s an amazing instrumental track that you’d expect from somebody like Treasure Fingers. I like.

6. Missbehave (Santogold)

Missbehave / Santogold
Santogold on Missbehave, Autumn 2008

With 2008 drawing to a close I’d like to highlight my 6 favorite albums of the past year (seems like a nice round number doesn’t it?) First up at number 6 is Santogold’s debut self titled album, Santogold. Armed with 3 amazing singles from her massively successful debut, Santogold did well in 2008 but only broke the surface. At the end of ’08 Santogold released Say Ah-Ha as her 4th single, and with it some amazing remixes. Check out a few of them below as well as Chewy Chocolate Cookies’ epic remix of Creator and Kid Glove’s remix of my favorite track, Lights Out.
