New Artist Alert: Spitzer

Here is Spitzer, an Electronic duo consisting of brothers Damien & Matthieu from Lyon, France. (Why do Europeans always do it better?) At the risk of sounding terrible cliché, I’m going to have to classify their sound as a fusion of Daft Punk and Justice, but a f’ing awesome fusion of Daft Punk and Justice. With a garage band background, the duo know how to add that harder-edge to the traditional techno sound.

Their first EP entitled Rollercoaster is in the works, and from what I’ve heard so far, it’s going to be a big hit. I posted one of my favorite tracks below called Disco Biscuits.

Nelly Furtado on Bajofondo’s Mar Dulce

Bajofondo is back with their second album entitled Mar Dulce. They managed to continue with their style, but this album is in no way the same as their first. Nelly Furtado, Elvis Costello and other artists have all contributed their voices to this album, and it’s truly spectacular. The first track Grand Guignol, is a mixture of Disco and Tango with a strong, almost House-like, baseline. It’s very unique. Pick up the Nelly Furtado track if your a fan of her voice, and if you enjoy it definitely download the rest as well 🙂

Cat & The Eye – Van She

Cat & The Eye is the first single off Van She’s debut album, due to hit shores in April 08. It’s an excellent first single, featuring a great mix of alternative and electronic. Not too hard and not too light. Fyi, it sounds nothing like the Van She remixes you’ve heard. Enjoy 🙂

FutureSex / LoveSounds Deluxe Edition

Justin Timbaland is re-releasing FutureSex / LoveSounds with a bonus DVD and some bonus tracks, and I’m very excited because these two remixes leaked. SexyBack featuring Missy Elliot and Sexy Ladies with Fiddy. Both are excellent and well worth the download.

Nite Runner (Ryan Bird Remix) (Feat. Justin Timberlake & Timbaland) – Duran Duran

Duran Duran is back with a great track featuring none-other than Justin Timberlake and Timbaland. I must admit that Nite Runner took a lot of getting used to, but I have to say that I love it. This remix is a harder, trippy version of the original. It still features the same 80s elements of the original, but adds a pounding baseline and some hard, even-rocky synths. I love it. Plus it gets kinda glitchy at some points. You’ll love it too.

Let Go (Feat. Rea Garvey) – Paul Van Dyk

Paul Van Dyk’s hot second single Let Go features U2-esque vocals by Rea Garvey. It really is another beautiful song, in the same league as Seal’s Amazing but a bit rockier. TV Rock kills it again with another amazing mix, however my favorites have to be the Alex Kunnari remix (which gets SICK at about 5 minutes) and the Vandit club mix which features a sexy digitized sound, full of clicks and beeps. The Pvd mix is a fast club-headbanger that I also recommend, plus it also comes with a snazzy instrumental so how can you go wrong?
